Television icon Donna Mills, best known as Knots Landing‘s Abby, wants to take up acting again in 2022 after a long hiatus. She’s 81 now and is just as dazzling as she was decades ago.

The actress took a break from acting for her daughter as she didn’t want to miss out on all the joys of being a mother. But, Donna’s zeal for her passion is still intact, and she wants to use it to get back in business.

In a Zoom call with The Daily Beast, she spoke at length about her personal and professional life as she cherished the old Abby while looking forward to new beginnings.

Donna’s appearance in 2022, surprisingly, isn’t drastically different from how she looked in the 1980s. She still carries the wavy blonde locks that fall over her shoulders.

The interviewer notes how “amazing” she looked over the video call.

The actress credits her health and beauty to working out four or five times a week along with playing tennis.

As for going under the knife, Donna claimed the only procedure she has ever got was a “bit of tucking” around 40 years ago, when she first started on Knots.

Actress on reviving her acting career at 81

As much as Donna would love to play Abby again, she wants to “look to the future” as she’s “not done yet”.

She took a break from acting at the age of 54 to take care of her adopted daughter, Chloe, who is now 27 years old.

“I wanted to be a mom and loved every minute of it. When she went off to college, I was like, ‘OK, what do I do now.’ I love interior design and then thought, ‘Shoot, I’ll have to go to college to train for that.’,” the actress explained.

While she has never been married, the television star has been with Larry Gilman for more than a decade.

She is starring in ‘Nope’

Although Donna did star in General Hospital as Madeline Reeves from 2014 to 2015 and again in 2018. She was also seen in the reality show, Queen of Drama, in 2015.

Now, she is also said to be playing a minor role in Jordan Peel’s new movie, Nope, about which she couldn’t talk much due to an NDA she has signed.

“I have not even seen the film yet. I will be seeing it for the first time at the premiere, “Donna said.

The movie is slated for to release in theaters on July 22 this year.
