Early life, family and education
Adam was raised an only child in Minnesota, by his father who was a firefighter and his mother who was a housewife – the family led a modest life but couldn’t afford to go on expensive trips and vacations. He became interested in acting at a very early age after watching TV series with his mother; he played baseball and football while attending Eden Prairie High School, and is today a huge fan of Minnesota Vikings American Football team. He practiced singing and acting while at high school, and upon matriculation in 1997, enrolled at the Southern Methodist University known for its amazing acting program – he graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in acting.
Career as an actor
After graduation, Adam moved to New York and appeared in numerous stage plays, then after several years moved to Chicago, and then to Dallas, appearing in plays wherever he went. From Dallas, he moved to Colorado, and eventually found himself in Alaska. He returned to Aspen in Colorado, where he spent four years teaching students acting, while he also directed around 15 plays.
After moving to Los Angeles in California in 2011, he made his debut TV appearance in the episode “Getting a Rise from the Dead” of the anthology series “1000 Ways to Die”, and was then cast to appear in single episodes of the police procedural crime series “Criminal Minds”, the series “Get Busy”, and the action comedy spy series “Chuck”.
The year 2012 saw him guest star as Junior in the episode “The Devil You Know” of the western crime series “Justified”, and the following year he portrayed Robbie Reuben in a single episode of the period drama “Vegas”.
In 2014, Adam appeared in both the crime series “Killer Women” and the crime procedural comedy series “Bones”, before he was invited to portray the supporting character Carl Brown in the action series “NCIS: Los Angeles”, for which he was shooting until 2017. Some of his latest roles in TV series have been in three episodes of the romantic family series “This Is Us” in 2017, the episode “Clean Burn” of the drama “Doubt”, and the episode “Shape-Shifters” of the animated anthology web series “Love, Death & Robots” both in 2019.
