Brody Miller Obituary: Evergreen School student of 6th grade dies in Metamora, Ohio

Metamora, Ohio – Young Brody C. Miller, a vibrant and joyful 12-year-old boy, passed away on the evening of September 16, 2023, at Motts Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He was surrounded by the love of his devoted parents, Jason and Lindsay (Schmitz) Miller, at his bedside. Brody’s departure has left an irreplaceable void, casting a pall of sorrow over all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Born on June 8, 2011, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Brody brought an abundance of joy and love into the lives of his family and friends. As a sixth grader at Evergreen, he had a smile that could light up any room, and his charming personality endeared him to everyone he encountered. Despite his young age, Brody’s impact will forever be etched in the hearts of those who had the honor of knowing him.

Brody had a wide array of hobbies and interests that brought him immense happiness, including gaming with his friends, a favorite pastime. He also cherished watching football outdoors on the back patio and gathering around the fire pit with loved ones, creating precious memories filled with laughter and excitement. His adventurous palate and love for seafood, especially crab, sushi, and shrimp, reflected his appreciation for life’s simple pleasures and the joy of sharing delicious meals with family.

A proud sixth-grade student at the Evergreen Local School District in Metamora, Ohio, Brody was not only a son to his parents, but also a source of pride and happiness. His warm energy and contagious spirit won the hearts of everyone he met. The Evergreen School Board, represented by Rusty Carr, expressed their condolences and called upon the community to support Brody’s grieving family during this incredibly challenging time.

Brody is survived by his loving parents, Jason and Lindsay (Schmitz) Miller, and his adoring siblings, Cru, Emmy, and Wells Miller. He was a source of immense joy to his paternal grandparents, John and Shelley Miller, and maternal grandparents, Randy and Rae Lynn Schmitz. Brody’s radiant spirit also touched numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, extending his impact far beyond his immediate family.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 21st from 5 to 7 pm at the Weigel Funeral Home in Metamora. Visitation will continue Friday, September 22nd from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Assumption, where a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 am, with Fr. Walter Tuscano presiding. Interment will follow at Amboy Township Cemetery.
